Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Business/Data Analyst to translate complex scientific needs into actionable requirements and data workflows.

You will partner with researchers and data engineers to capture requirements, document workflows, and ensure data governance following FAIR practices.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in life sciences, informatics, data, or technical discipline (advanced degree a plus).
  • Practical experience or strong academic grounding in early life sciences (e.g., biologics, sequencing, protein engineering, antibody discovery, chemistry).
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical/biotech research workflows.
  • 2+ years in IT/informatics/data analysis/business analysis/scientific data role (graduate research/internship considered).
  • Collaborative, analytical problem-solving; ability to learn new tools and adapt.
  • IIBA or similar Business Analysis Certification (plus).

Responsibilities

  • Work with research stakeholders to understand scientific data workflows, capture needs, and document business requirements.
  • Translate scientific needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process notes, and IT/engineering requirements.
  • Support demand intake/analysis by mapping workflows, identifying friction points, and escalating risks/questions.
  • Represent researcher context in product discussions; validate delivered capabilities meet needs.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers on data collection, testing, validation, issue tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain field-level metadata, business glossaries, and documentation aligned with FAIR practices.
  • Support alignment of identifiers, terminology, and definitions across Molecular Invention (MI) data sources.
  • Communicate with scientific/technical audiences; summarize decisions, risks, and follow-ups.
  • Demonstrate growth mindset and ownership for business analysis, data literacy, AI/ML awareness, and Pharmaceutical R&D knowledge.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
  • Full-time pay ranges: Cambridge Crossing $83,680-$101,404; Princeton-NJ $76,080-$92,185. Eligible for additional incentive cash/stock and comprehensive benefits (medical/dental/vision/life/disability/retirement/financial protection) and U.S. FTO or paid vacation/hours as described.
