Job summary

CGS is seeking a Discovery Database Administrator to join a fast-paced Legal department team. You will manage Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022, implement security, backups, and maintenance jobs, and design data models within a data lake/warehouse context.

The role involves cloud migrations and report development using SSRS, with a focus on reliability and performance. Responsibilities include upgrading servers, handling clustering, and creating comprehensive reports.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022 including security, backups, and maintenance.
• Design and optimize databases, migrate systems; support data lakes and warehouse architectures.
• Experience with log shipping, mirroring, and high availability in SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Provide database administration support for SQL Server 2019 and 2022, including security and maintenance jobs.
• Assist in managing SQL Server environments and optimize performance.
• Assist in creating databases in clustered environments with data models and ER diagrams.
• Apply data lake/warehouse concepts to integrate solutions with legacy systems.
• Implement mirroring, log shipping, redundancy and backup/recovery for SQL Server 2019/2022.
• Facilitate migration of systems into cloud infrastructure.
• Upgrade SQL Server versions and create SSRS reports.
• Set up and manage a reporting server; handle DBA functions and report development.
