Job summary

Leidos is seeking a cleared Geospatial Discovery & Collection Specialist to support a customer location in St. Louis, MO. You will collect, research, and compile open-source data, produce OSSI reports, and manage activities in JIRA while ensuring OPSEC and information governance.

The role requires 1–3 years of OSINT experience, TS/SCI with CI Poly willingness, and familiarity with geospatial tools. Strong written and verbal communication across teams is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collect, research, evaluate, and compile publicly available information (PAI) per customer policies and SOPs.
  • Produce and disseminate Open Source reports and alerts.
  • Populate activities in JIRA or equivalent performance management system.
  • Respond to RFIs and other customer needs; monitor regions and perform language support tasks.
  • Contribute to data release, reports, and tradecraft materials.
  • Maintain access to security domains and IC open-source portals.

Job description

The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a cleared Geospatial Discovery & Collection Specialist to work at a customer location in St. Louis, MO. This is an exciting opportunity to apply tradecraft to employ safe searching principles in order to identify and collect geospatial open source data. Staff must also quantify the veracity of open sources data and provide context and insight about cultural topics and entities on which they collect.

Primary Responsibilities.
  • Collect, research, evaluate, and compile publicly available information (PAI) in accordance with established customer policies and procedures, including current storage policies, OPSEC protocols, and Intelligence Oversight (IO) Governance.
  • Produce and disseminate Open Source reports and alerts in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Populate activities in assigned performance management system (Currently JIRA).
  • Support timely responses to intelligence priorities, requests for information (RFIs) and other customer and mission needs. Tasks include:
  • Regional/Target monitoring
  • Language support
  • Geolocating
  • Data discovery and transfer
  • Address coding
  • Contribute to the preparation of data release, analytical, observational, and technical reports, and publications.
  • Assess open-source media veracity utilizing splice detectors, hex editors, GAN detectors, etc.
  • Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
  • Request and maintain access to security domain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, COE).
  • Request, maintain access to, and utilize IC Open-Source databases/portals (Tier 0).
  • Suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Contribute to Open-Source Tradecraft knowledge management.
  • Support presentations of activities, discoveries, conclusions, and/or tradecraft to leadership, partners, and customers.
  • Maintain active presence in Open Source chatrooms and collaboration spaces to engage with team members, customers, and partners.
  • Conduct persona maintenance activities (surfing, seasoning, posting) in accordance with the service constraints paragraph on sensitive operations.
  • Support Senior management with outreach and marketing efforts.
Basic Qualifications.
  • 1-3 years of experience conducting Open-Source collection or Open-Source Analysis.
  • Experience with web browsing tools and advance searching techniques.
  • Course work or 1 year of experience building/using Power Point slides, Excel spreadsheets, Email, and One Note Notebooks.
  • Basic knowledge of how to conduct safe searches (OPSEC).
  • 1-3 year of demonstrated work experience directly engaging with IC partners/customers.
  • Active TS/SCI with willingness to be approved for CI Poly
Preferred Qualifications.
  • Foreign language capabilities (Reading, Writing, Listening).
  • Knowledge of geospatial technologies (ArcGIS, GoogleEarth, ISpy).
  • Knowledge of DoD/IC databases and services.
  • Knowledge of Common Open-Source databases and Services.
  • Familiarity with Social Media.
  • Familiarity with JIRA.
  • Knowledge of DoD, and IC missions.
  • Experience Geolocating images (Handheld photography, videos, etc.).
  • Ability to remain flexible to changing priorities and requirements from supervisors and customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

Pay Range:

Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
