Leidos is seeking an experienced Disclosure & Declassification Analyst for our client’s mission—focused program within a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Northern Virginia or Maryland area. A successful candidate in this position will assess the classification and markings of classified and unclassified products—including a wide range of items such as analytic reports, policy documents, websites, IT code, budget spreadsheets, and more—in accordance with client’s policies and procedures, and security classification guides, and explaining those determinations to leaders and the workforce.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing various products to recommend approval or denial, in whole or in part, of requests for public disclosure and explaining those determinations to leaders and the workforce.
  • Reviewing records to determine if they can be declassified.
  • Developing and maintaining records for tracking the status and adjudication of materials.
  • Planning, coordinating, and documenting the client’s classification, declassification, and prepublication determinations.
  • The customer may require that the work be performed during its core hours of 0600–1900 EST Monday to Friday.

  • Able to consult and coordinate with other stakeholders and organizations to ensure consistent application of public disclosure policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the IDSCLOSE application is highly desirable.
  • Able to develop and implement strategies to identify information—protection issues and problems, including those resulting from unauthorized disclosure, inadvertent release, declassification, and the collective effect of releases to mitigate those issues and problems.
  • Minimum 5 years working with or in the IC.
  • Requires a BA degree and 12–15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10–13 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with reviewing senior‑level policy and/or strategy documents.
  • Previous experience with reviewing government documents for public release.
  • Assisting groups to arrive at consensus on complex topics.
  • Critical thinking to recognize and ascertain when information supporting decision making is incomplete or requires greater context.
  • Detail oriented with excellent grammar and proof‑reading skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities and a "customer service-oriented" personality.
