Job summary

Old River Baptist Church is seeking an Associate Pastor of Discipleship Systems, Missions, and Assimilation. The role oversees discipleship milestones from first visit to membership, coordinates ministries, and equips volunteers to advance the church's mission.

The candidate will work with the Lead Pastor and staff to implement vision across discipleship, missions, and assimilation, and will shepherd the congregation with emphasis on gospel-centered ministry and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity or equivalent from SBC-aligned seminary preferred.
• 5+ years of church staff or mission experience preferred.
• Licensed and ordained by a Southern Baptist Church or like-faith church preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pastor the entire congregation with Lead Pastor and other staff.
• Develop and articulate vision for discipleship, missions, and assimilation areas.
• Coordinate discipleship ministries for cohesiveness and effectiveness.
• Lead baptism and member interviews with other pastors on staff.
• Preach as needed in coordination with the Pastor.
• Develop volunteers and train members to do ministry work.
