Job summary

Dauphin Way United Methodist Church in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking an Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Missions to lead our discipleship and outreach efforts.

The role directs age-level ministries, coordinates our mission opportunities, and grows biblical study, small groups, fellowship, and service for all ages.

Preference is given to ordained Deacons in the UMC; lay candidates with strong leadership and spiritual grounding will also be considered, with the post designated accordingly.

Qualifications

• Candidate will create opportunities for people to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and to put their faith into action through mission and service.
• Experience leading age-level ministries and service opportunities.
• Ability to oversee multiple ministry areas and coordinate staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Bible studies and coordinates children’s and youth programming.
• Offers pastoral counsel and preaches at weddings, funerals, and weekly services.
• Oversees discipleship ministries and develops new Sunday School classes and small groups.
• Coordinates Love Mob (Love Mobile) Service Day and quarterly service opportunities.
• Supports mission partners and volunteers across church programs.
