Qualifications

• Actively collaborates with the attending practitioner, family and other team members to coordinate an individualized plan of care across the continuum, communicates the plan to key stakeholders and facilitates a safe and timely discharge.
• Utilizes clinical expertise to ensure high quality care is provided efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensures compliance for assigned area; participates in emergency response preparedness as needed.
• Participates in training and development of staff, including peer evaluation.
• Engages in workplace improvement by adapting to new processes, collecting data, auditing, and representing the department at meetings.
• Provides after-hour services as assigned through on-call availability.

Overview:

Monday - Friday, Day Shift

Contingent - not benefits eligible

Must work a minimum of 16 hours per month

Floats to all NCH NICUs (Main Campus, Riverside, Grant, Doctors, Dublin, Mount Carmel St Anns, OSU)

BSN required at hire

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Job Description Summary:

Ensures that high quality patient care is provided in a timely and cost effective manner, in the most appropriate setting. Responsible for coordinating the efforts of the inpatient multidisciplinary team; managing the utilization of hospital, patient/family and community resources and facilitating a smooth transition to the next level of care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with The Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.

Education Requirement:

BSN (within five years of hire date if not already achieved).

Licensure Requirement:

Current Ohio RN License.

Certifications:

Pediatric Nurse or Case Management certifications desirable but not required.

Experience:
