Job summary

State of Vermont, Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living seeks a Director for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (HireAbility). You will provide executive leadership, set strategic direction, and manage operations for 140 staff across 12 offices with a $27.7M budget.

Key focus areas include workforce development, post-secondary education initiatives, and services for youth in transition, with emphasis on compliance and stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field AND 4+ years of related experience in human services, workforce development, or policy development.
• Master's degree in a human services field AND 2+ years of related experience INCLUDING supervisory/capacity in social services casework.
• Six+ years of experience in human services, workforce development, or policy development INCLUDING supervisory/capacity in social services casework.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation with strategic direction and operational management.
• Oversee contracts, field offices, and multi-stakeholder coordination to support ~5,000 Vermonters served annually.
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements and state policies while guiding performance and accountability.
