Job summary

Citrin Cooperman in White Plains, NY is seeking a Trust & Estate Tax Director to join our Tax Department. You will supervise complex estate and high net worth engagements and advise on the tax implications of estate plans and trust documents.

You will provide expert consulting and planning for high-net-worth individuals, oversee trust administration, and ensure quality control of gift and estate tax returns while mentoring junior staff and contributing to practice development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of public accounting experience in estate tax, fiduciary income tax, and trust administration.
• CPA license or JD required.
• Strong tax research and technical tax expertise.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and manage cross-office projects.

We are looking for a Trust & Estate Tax Director to join our Tax Department. As a Trust & Estate Tax Director, you will be responsible for:

• Supervise complex estate and high net worth consulting engagements.
• Analysis of tax and practical implications of estate plans and trust documents.
• Provide effective consulting and planning for high-net-worth individuals.
• Supervise complex estate and trust administration.
• QC of complex gift and estate tax returns.
• Perform tax research to resolve trust and estate issues.
• Maintain knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends that affect clients.
• Prepare thought leadership ready for external and internal circulation.
• Assist with development and refinement of practice and procedures for Trust & Estate Practice.
• Assist with learning and development as a course developer and presenter.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of public accounting experience in the areas of estate tax, fiduciary income tax, estate planning, and trust administration
• CPA license or JD required.
• A high level of technical tax expertise, tax research skills and experience reviewing complex estate and gift tax returns.
• Possess a general understanding of entity taxation including partnerships and S-corporations.
• Review of fiduciary accountings a plus.
• Experience with international estate planning and foreign trusts a plus.
• IRS audit experience a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, acting as a mentor for junior staff and managing projects effectively across offices.
