Job summary

Horizon Group USA in New Providence, NJ seeks a Director of Product Development & Innovation to drive strategy for Kids Craft & Activity categories, identify trends, and develop new product assortments and custom programs.

You will lead cross-functional teams across design, sourcing, compliance and sales; mentor the development team; and partner with merchandising to align with brand goals while pursuing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product development/merchandising/brand management, ideally in fast-paced toy, tween or craft spaces.
• Experience with custom product development is required.
• Ability to multi-task and lead with strong communication skills.
• Hybrid work from New Providence, NJ office at least twice per week.

Responsibilities

• Vision for designated brands; drive development and execution of products aligned with brands and programs.
• Oversee creative development from concept to merchandising handoff with cross-functional teams.
• Lead new product execution while managing the existing portfolio and identifying growth opportunities.
• Mentor development team to connect ideation with market viability and profitability.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, sourcing and sales to meet strategic goals.
• Coordinate with overseas offices on brand development and global sourcing initiatives.
• Prepare for retail presentations and industry trade shows.
• Support costing negotiations and maintain product integrity throughout development.
