Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a Director Telemetry to lead the nursing and clinical operations of the telemetry units. This role drives staffing, policy implementation, quality initiatives, and department performance, partnering with nursing leadership and administration to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, VA RN licensure, BLS, and at least five years of bedside nursing with two years in management, with a focus on engaged leadership and

Responsibilities

• Manages the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) and recruits qualified staff.
• Coordinates services and communicates with medical, nursing, admin, patients and families.
• Develops and implements policies to support service provision and guides staff competency.
• Supervises nursing staff and ensures ongoing performance improvement.
• Promotes quality management and engages in program development and evaluation.
• Develops goals for the Nursing Department and participates in staffing strategies.
• Provides orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for department staff.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Manages the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommends sufficient number of qualified competent persons to provide care. Participates in outside source selection for needed services. Works closely with their recruiter and the recruiting team to develop sourcing and hiring strategies.

Integrates department services with the hospital’s primary function maintaining communication with medical and nursing staffs, Administration, patients and their families/significant other. Coordinates and integrates services within departments.

Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services. Supervises nursing staff and assures staff competency.

Continual assessment and improvement of the department performance. Promotes the Quality Management program of the facility maintaining appropriate quality control programs (where applicable).

Develops, markets, implements, and evaluates new services and programs recommending space and resources needed. Participates in outside source selection for needed services.

Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies.

Develops goals and objectives for assigned area(s) of responsibility and participates in development of goals and objectives for the Nursing Department.

Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for persons in the department.

Assumes the duties of the Associate Nursing Executive or Administrative Coordinator as assigned.

Remains focused on employee rounding, employee engagement, and employee retention measured by annual engagement scores, monthly and trending turnover rates.

Education & Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree – Required
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a registered nurse – Required
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider – Required
• Five (5) years current nursing experience; two (2) years of management experience - Required
