Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making in support of growth and profitability. The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, and modeling, while driving data, process, and tool transformation across the function.

A key focus will be developing the finance data platform, managing a high-performing team, and partnering with business leaders to translate operational drivers into financial guidance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and business operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly close and forecast processes as well as annual budgeting and long-range planning processes, collaborating with various business units to develop comprehensive financial plans.
• Understand and communicate and execute regular financial forecasting cycles, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities. Drive action based on insights
• Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership, including variance analysis, performance dashboards, and executive summaries.
• Partner with business leaders to understand operational drivers and translate them into financial implications and actionable recommendations. Proactively manage cost optimization efforts
• Identify and implement process transformation within the FP&A function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
• Lead and develop a team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, providing financial expertise and support.

Job Summary

The Director, FP&A at McKesson Corporation will lead financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making processes to support the company's growth and profitability objectives. This role involves overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, providing critical insights to senior leadership, and driving continuous improvement in financial performance. A big focus in the next couple of years will be finance data, process, and tools transformation. This role will play a key role in the organization in co-developing the solution, change management, and driving adoption.

Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Proven experience in a large, complex organization, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical distribution industry.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and business operations.
• Expert proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools (e.g., SAP BPC, Anaplan, Hyperion Planning).
• Proficient usage of Microsoft suite of products, ERP, FP&A tools, visualization tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, coaching, and development.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Hybrid position, in office 1 day weekly.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$135,800 - $226,400
