Job summary

United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) seeks a broadcast operations professional to operate Ross, Sony, or Grass Valley switchers for live and taped broadcasts, serving as a dual Director/TD and executing technical transitions. You will configure routing and coordinate with producers to align with the show rundown.

You will program macros, manage graphics playback, and rapidly troubleshoot equipment failures to keep broadcasts on schedule in an automated control environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating broadcast switchers in live or taped productions.
• Ability to call editorial cues while executing technical transitions.
• Familiarity with automated control environments and manual override.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ross, Sony, or Grass Valley switchers for live and taped broadcasts.
• Act as dual Director/TD, calling editorial cues while executing technical transitions.
• Configure control room routing and route all feeds prior to air.
• Program switcher macros and media macros for complex layouts.
• Manage live graphics, lower thirds, chroma keys, and media playback.
• Troubleshoot live broadcasts and pivot to backups to prevent dead air.
