BBR Partners’ Wealth Strategies team serves as a centralized, specialized resource to help ensure clients receive thoughtful, coordinated, and forward-looking advice across their most consequential financial decisions. The team is grounded in a strong foundation of tax-aware planning, recognizing that tax considerations are a key driver of many complex wealth decisions and an essential lens through which broader strategies are evaluated.
Within that framework, BBR takes a holistic, family office-style approach-supporting clients and advisors across a wide range of interconnected issues, including trust and estate planning, insurance and risk management, lending and liquidity, and coordination with external advisors.
We are seeking a Director, Tax & Wealth Strategy to serve as a wealth strategist, reporting to the Head of Wealth Strategies, with primary responsibility for tax planning and related strategic planning matters affecting ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. This individual will partner closely with advisors across the firm, participate directly in client engagements, and help shape the continued development of BBR's Wealth Strategies platform. This role is fundamentally a tax planning role, with additional involvement in insurance, lending, and other wealth management and financial planning functions.
Key Responsibilities
Client Team Support
- Serve as the firm's senior tax planning expert on complex client matters.
- Elevate the consistency, sophistication, and quality of planning delivered throughout the firm.
- Partner closely with Client Advisors to identify opportunities, evaluate alternatives, develop planning strategies and prepare for client engagements
- Review and analyze client tax returns and planning documents to identify key considerations, tradeoffs, and risks.
- Help establish best practices, frameworks, and standards for planning delivered across client relationships.
Direct Client & Prospect Engagement
- Help define and expand BBR's tax planning capabilities and service offering, advising on sophisticated planning matters including: individual income tax planning and trust and estate income taxation, with exposure to business-owner and liquidity-event planning, cross border tax considerations and insurance, lending and liquidity strategies.
- Translate complex technical issues into practical recommendations and actionable guidance.
- Develop scalable planning frameworks, tools and client deliverables.
- Help demonstrate BBR's planning and family office capabilities to prospects and referral sources.
- Support proposal development and responses to complex planning inquiries.
- Where appropriate, participate directly in client and prospective client meetings as a senior planning resource and coordinate implementation efforts among clients and their external advisors.
External Advisor Relationship Management
- Curate and strengthen BBR's network of preferred providers for clients.
- Manage client referral requests and assist advisors in identifying appropriate external resources and specialists.
- Represent BBR within the professional advisor community and stay current on the latest planning techniques.
- Create and author tailored planning content for an UHNW audience.
Internal Education, Thought Leadership & Platform Development
- Serve as a technical resource and educator to advisors and internal teams.
- Collaborate with our internal learning and development team to develop and deliver internal training programs.
- Author planning insights, white papers, educational materials and thought leadership content.
- Identify and ensure advisors remain current on significant tax and legislative developments, emerging planning opportunities and industry trends affecting clients
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, Master's in Taxation, JD/LL.M., or similar advanced credentials.
- 10+ years of experience advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
- Significant experience with: Individual income tax planning, Trust and estate taxation, Business-owner planning, Charitable planning, and Complex financial planning.
- Strong working knowledge of insurance, lending, liquidity, and family office planning issues.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and advisor teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and relationship-management skills.
- Proven ability to develop innovative planning solutions for sophisticated client situations.
- Existing professional networks among tax, legal, and planning professionals.

Additional Information
Base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple reasons, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The expected base salary for the role will generally be between $250,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment, but the final salary offered may be outside this range based on these reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, base salary is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses, alternative incentive packages, commission eligibility, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
