NorthRock Partners is seeking an experienced, client-focused Director, Tax Services to lead planning, compliance and client service for high-net-worth individuals and related entities, partnering with financial advisors to deliver integrated tax strategies within our Personal Office experience.

You’ll oversee complex engagements, mentor a Tax Services team, and ensure accurate, timely, and sound tax guidance while strengthening relationships with clients and cross-functional teams across our

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
• Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and tax services for high-net-worth clients.
• Minimum of two years of formal supervisory experience.
• Advanced expertise in complex tax return preparation, planning and consulting.
• Experience managing tax authority inquiries, audits, and complex compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive year-round tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and related entities.
• Oversee preparation and review of complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Partner with financial advisors and cross-functional teams to implement tax strategies.
• Serve as a trusted tax resource, communicating complex concepts clearly.
• Coach and develop Tax Services team members through guidance and feedback.
• Manage client and advisor expectations with proactive communication and follow‑up.
• Coordinate responses to notices, examinations and audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and service quality.
