Job summary

Koch Engineered Solutions, via its DEPCOM Power subsidiary, seeks a Director of Subcontracts Management to transform our Subcontracts capability. Based in Scottsdale, AZ, this role blends hands-on construction leadership with strategic people management to deliver EHS, quality, and cost outcomes across the renewable portfolio.

In this role you will shape the team, establish partnerships, and drive disciplined bidding and contracting processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in field, site, construction, or subcontract management in civil, electrical, structural, and/or heavy industrial EPC environments.
• Experience leading subcontracts, including selection, negotiation, and execution of MSAs and project-level agreements.
• Experience managing subcontractor performance, change orders, and claims on active construction projects.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Experience reading, writing, and negotiating multi-year contracts and pricing arrangements.
• Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive the vision. Develop and share the Subcontracts vision and actions to engage leadership as a strategic partner.
• Build and lead the team. Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing subcontracts team and define roles and expectations.
• Identify and close talent gaps by raising needs and building bench and succession.
• Build preferred partnerships with subcontractors based on mutual benefit and aligned incentives.
• Lead disciplined subcontractor selection focusing on EHS, cost, quality, and schedule.
• Apply construction expertise to scope definition, means and methods, sequencing, and productivity assumptions.
