Job summary

SCOPE Recruiting - Supply Chain Recruiters is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing for Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering. You will lead strategic procurement, develop multi-year sourcing roadmaps, and partner with cross-functional leaders to drive cost optimization and supplier innovation.

Based in Dublin, CA with hybrid in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, the role offers a base salary up to $200k plus bonus.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing experience in Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering.
  • 5+ years of cross-functional program or project management leadership.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, cost estimation, and market index pricing.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specs; familiarity with DC operations.
  • Experience with RFPs, vendor evaluations, and TCO modeling.

Responsibilities

Role Summary

The Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing will lead strategic procurement and sourcing projects for Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering across our growing supply chain network. In this role, you will drive enterprise value through cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supplier innovation while acting as a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership.

Location: Dublin, CA (Hybrid: in-office collaboration with remote flexibility)

Base Salary Range: Up to $200k +Bonus

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Execution
  • Develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies for Industrial Construction (e.g., steel structures, concrete, MEP systems) and Facilities Maintenance (e.g., conveyor systems, forklifts, racking).
  • Lead analytics to identify high-risk and high-cost categories, creating multi-year sourcing roadmaps.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Property Development, Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Risk Management, and Finance to align on project requirements and milestones.
  • Manage end-to-end competitive sourcing events (RFPs), vendor evaluations, clean sheet analysis, market index analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling.
  • Onboard qualified suppliers and contractors, monitoring performance via key metrics, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and executive supplier meetings.
  • Drive bottom-up cost estimation and cost-saving initiatives through value engineering and competitive bidding.
  • Facilitate seamless operational handover from Property Development to Facilities Maintenance upon site go-live.
  • Establish portfolio-level risk mitigation strategies through robust contracting, safety adherence, and regulatory compliance (including LEED and OSHA guidelines).
  • Review and negotiate complex construction contracts to identify gaps, reduce risks, and capture cost savings.
  • Partner with Legal, IT, and Business stakeholders to address contract redlines, cybersecurity standards, and supply chain constraints.
Leadership & Project Support
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations summarizing market research, vendor selections, and strategic recommendations.
  • Serve as an internal escalation contact to resolve supplier disputes and improve service performance.
  • Manage multiple high-priority sourcing projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: BA/BS in Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering (MBA or master's degree preferred).
  • Sourcing Experience: 7+ years of strategic sourcing/category management experience within Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering.
  • Project Management: 5+ years of cross-functional program or project management experience leading technical and non-technical teams.
  • Financial & Cost Expertise: Strong understanding of corporate finance (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow), construction cost estimation, and market index pricing.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read/interpret construction drawings and specifications; familiarity with Distribution Center (DC) operations (Receiving, Sorting, Pick/Pack, Shipping).
  • Software: Experience with Construction Management tools (e.g., Procore) and Procurement/Contracting platforms (e.g., Coupa). Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups) and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CCPS, CCM, or CPSM.
  • Background: Consulting background and retail sector experience are strongly preferred.
  • Core Competencies: Data-driven problem solving, quantitative analysis, strong contract negotiation skills, attention to detail, and executive communication abilities.
Working Conditions
  • Office-based position with regular in-person collaboration, team interaction, and stakeholder support, complemented by remote work flexibility.
  • Occasional travel to regional corporate facilities and distribution centers as required.
