Boston Medical Center is searching for a Director of Strategic Sourcing to provide leadership in developing and executing sourcing strategies across clinical and non-clinical categories. Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain, the Director of Strategic Sourcing provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the health system’s sourcing and contracting lifecycle. Operating under limited supervision guided by division objectives, this role is responsible for leading the development and execution of enterprise‑wide sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance across clinical and non‑clinical portfolios. The Director partners closely with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to drive value‑based purchasing, clinical standardization, and supply chain transformation initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement (preferably in a healthcare environment), which must include at least 5 years of formal supervisory experience managing professional staff; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or similar) combined with 12+ years of progressive healthcare supply chain leadership experience within a highly complex, multi‑entity, or matrixed health system.
Compensation Range: $122,000.00–$177,000.00 (based on minimum qualifications). The range is based on Boston‑area data and may be adjusted for geographic location. Total compensation includes medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, discretionary annual bonuses, merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well‑being.
