Imperial Brady in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Director, Strategic Initiatives to translate strategic priorities into funded, tracked programs. You will partner with executive leadership to design operating plans, govern major initiatives, and drive execution across functions.

This role requires 5–9 years in program management or strategy, a strong finance acumen, experience with PMO tools, and comfort with AI-enabled productivity. A Bachelor’s is required and an MBA is preferred.

The Director, Strategic Initiatives is the execution backbone of the Office of Strategy & Transformation, converting board-level strategic priorities into structured, funded, tracked, and delivered initiatives. This person partners closely with executive leadership to develop strategies and executional plans, and then transitions to supporting teams in execution. Given the nature of these strategic initiatives, this role has significant exposure to Executive Leadership. This person is a thought partner to our executives and also supports them in Board-level communication.

Compensation Range: $180,000 to $220,000 + Bonus

Salary range reflects the Jersey City, NJ market & compensation may vary based on geographic location

You Will

• Partner with executive leadership to define the strategies and initiatives that contribute to financial goals of all functions and markets
• Serve as thought partner and 'interim Chief of Staff' for function leaders to develop annual operating plans, executional workplans and coordinate their teams’ execution
• Own program governance for 1-3 major enterprise initiatives (e.g., M&A integration, network/footprint optimization, commercial excellence, margin improvement, digital enablement) including charter, workplan, milestones, and stage-gate reviews
• Build and manage business cases in partnership with FP&A, including investment, expected benefits, and timelines for benefit realization
• Manage cross-functional workstreams and steering committees, ensuring alignment, addressing interdependencies, and resolving issues
• Maintain risk and issue logs and drive mitigation actions through resolution
• Track EBITDA impact and benefit realization, ensuring results are accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with FP&A reporting
• Prepare executive- and board-level presentations and materials to support key business decisions
• Partner with Business Process Excellence teams to integrate automation and AI-enabled productivity initiatives into program plans
• Support IPO-readiness initiatives, including process documentation, controls, and KPI infrastructure
• Build alignment and strong partnerships with business units and functional leaders to drive successful execution

YOU HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
• 5-9 years in program/project management, corporate strategy, management consulting, or a PE-portfolio operations/value-creation role; distribution, industrials, or B2B supply-chain experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives with real P&L or operational stakes - not purely IT project management
• Strong financial acumen, including business case development, P&L understanding, and benefit tracking in partnership with FP&A
• Experience working with senior executives and business leaders, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with PMO/project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, Power BI, or Tableau
• Comfortable using AI-enabled tools to support planning, reporting, and productivity
