Job summary

Google Search is evolving rapidly, and the foundational data infrastructure that powers it must evolve with it. We are seeking an experienced infrastructure leader to serve as the Director of Software Engineering for the Search Logging Platform and Data Warehouse.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and execution of massive-scale systems that process, store, and serve Search logging data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 10 years of experience as an engineering leader.
• Experience as an infrastructure engineering leader, specifically running large-scale data warehouses, data processing systems, or enterprise analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical and organizational strategy for the Search logging platform and data warehouse, overseeing large-scale data processing systems and analytics platforms.
• Act as a change-agent to help the team and infrastructure adapt swiftly to rapid product shifts, new business partnerships, and scaling requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface and strategic partner for key stakeholders, translating the complex needs of (a) data science and analytics, (b) the regulatory and compliance environment, and (c) fast-paced product development into robust infrastructure solutions.
• Build, manage, and inspire a high-performing engineering organization. Cultivate a culture of technical excellence, with a strong emphasis on attracting, mentoring, and nurturing exceptional engineering talent and future leaders.
