Job summary

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Director, Software Engineer in New York, NY to lead software development, coordinate testing, and present demos to users.

You will analyze backlog items, collaborate with business users, and drive features through to production while supporting on-call releases. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or IT (foreign degree accepted) and 3+ years in related roles, with strong Java EE, Spring, Scala, UI, and distributed systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, information technology, or related field; foreign degree accepted.
• 3+ years in software engineering roles with Java EE, Spring, Scala, UI and distributed systems.
• Experience with pub/sub messaging, IBM MQ, relational NoSQL databases, Docker, CI/CD and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate software features aligned with firm requirements.
• Lead testing, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and user signoffs.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and manage backlog requirements.
• Prepare releases and provide on-call application support as needed.

Create action items based on user queries and business requirements. Conduct requirement analysis on backlog items. Engage with business users on preferences, deadlines, and requirements. Participate in Scrum meetings (planning, standups, reviews and retrospectives). Develop and implement new features that adhere to Firm requirements using proprietary tools. Prepare, supervise, and conduct regular maintenance and/or out-of-cycle software releases. Provide application support on- and off-hours. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.What you’ll bring to the role:-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
