Job summary

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Direct the preparation of management reports and audit support documentation.
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and ERP optimization initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics.
  • Partner with business leaders on strategic finance initiatives and growth.
  • Build and lead high-performing shared services teams.
  • Manage budgets, workforce planning, and risk management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary/Overview

The Director of Shared Services is responsible for leading the organization’s North American shared services functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements while driving operational excellence, process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across shared services operations.

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, company policies, and internal control standards.
  • Direct the preparation of accurate and timely management reports and audit support documentation.
  • Drive operational excellence through process standardization, automation, continuous improvement, and ERP optimization initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Partner with business leaders to support strategic initiatives, financial planning, organizational growth, and business transformation efforts.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing accounting and shared services teams, fostering a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage departmental budgets, workforce planning, risk management activities, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing shared service teams which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, expense administration, and vendor management.
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-location, or complex organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • 30%+ travel across CMCO’s U.S. footprint.
