Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Director to oversee Amazon Dedicated Cloud Data Center Operations, ensuring end-to-end operational excellence for air-gapped, classified regions supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community and DoD.

The role leads DC Operations, Systems & Planning, Network Infrastructure, and Physical Security across ADC regions, delivering secure, highly available compute for sensitive workloads and critical missions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data center operations or related leadership roles.
• 5+ years of people leadership, including senior managers and directors.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience operating in classified or government-regulated environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of all Amazon Dedicated Cloud data center regions in air-gapped environments.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary org spanning DC Operations, DC Systems & Planning, Network Infrastructure Design & Deployment, Infrastructure Systems/Tooling/Operations, and Physical Security.
• Define the long-term infrastructure operations roadmap aligned with AWS growth and government mission needs.
• Drive innovation for building, operating, and scaling classified cloud environments.
• Partner with AWS Network Engineering, DC Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and DC Planning & Delivery for capacity and readiness.
• Serve as a key interface with U.S. Government customers and translate mission needs into infrastructure priorities.
• Collaborate with compliance, legal, and security to maintain accreditation and meet regulatory requirements.
• Define and own KPIs - availability, incident response, capacity utilization, security posture, and executive visibility.
• Build, develop, and retain cleared infra professionals; foster ownership, innovation, and discipline.
• Develop succession plans and invest in career growth across the organization.
