Job summary

Wolters Kluwer N.V. in Waltham, MA, is seeking a Director of Sales Operations to lead the Deal Desk and elevate how we execute, manage, and close business.

You will partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Revenue Operations to remove bottlenecks, standardize processes, and drive data-driven improvements that boost bookings and shorten cycle times. This role requires building documentation, governance, KPIs, and automation across CRM and CPQ while developing a high-performing Sales

  • Extensive experience leading Deal Desk operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, document, and implement scalable end-to-end business processes.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Deal Desk function with governance, ownership, and escalation paths to support deal execution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce friction and accelerate deal velocity.
  • Build and maintain documentation for sales processes, policies, approval workflows, and Deal Desk procedures.
  • Establish standards and operating procedures to improve consistency and scalability across the sales org.
  • Partner with Sales leaders to remove recurring deal barriers and enable faster closing of business.
  • Simplify and streamline approval processes across pricing, discounts, contracting, and exceptions.
  • Use Deal Desk and sales data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve conversion and bookings.
  • Drive automation across CRM, CPQ, and related sales systems to reduce manual work and boost productivity.
  • Establish meaningful Deal Desk and operational KPIs, including turnaround time and deal velocity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and other stakeholders to align processes with customer and business needs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement focused on speed, clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead and develop Sales Operations professionals responsible for Deal Desk and supporting sales processes.
