Job summary

Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Director of Quality (RN) to lead facility-wide quality initiatives and the Patient Safety Program. The role directs staff, coordinates regulatory activities, and partners with leadership to improve patient outcomes while aligning with fiscal goals.

Candidates should hold an RN license, have an associate degree in nursing (MSN preferred), and possess substantial leadership experience in nursing, including director-level roles.

  • At least 7 years in Nursing with 3 years in Director/Manager role
  • Previous RN Director level experience preferred
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

  • Direct quality initiatives and oversee the Patient Safety Program and related quality/performance improvement activities.
  • Provide operational leadership and coordinate regulatory/accreditation programs (CMS/TJC Core Measures, Leapfrog, etc.).
  • Serve as liaison between hospital leadership and regulatory agencies.
  • Guide staff and leadership to improve patient care outcomes and maintain fiscal goals.

Department/Unit Summary

The Director of Quality directs quality i6nitiatives for the organization. Primary oversite of the facility-wide Patient Safety Program. Leadership role will direct others within the facility towards process improvement. Director of Quality who excels in this role:

  • Directs, controls, and evaluates the activities, functions, and management of personnel within the Quality/Performance Improvement, as well as effectively managing and meeting fiscal goals defined for these departments.
  • Serves as the Patient Safety Officer and Ethics.
  • Achieves operational management among leadership and clinical employees to continually improve patient care outcomes.
  • Provides operational leadership to direct reports in Quality, Regulatory, Trauma, Stroke, Bone & Joint etc. This position reports directly to the CMO.
  • Implements the vision and strategies of the Senior Leadership team as a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and continually advance clinical practice and patient experiences.
  • Oversight and continued implementation of the facility's compliance with requirements of federal health care programs.
  • Fosters and environment where colleagues know they can raise concerns or report suspected code violations.
  • Coordinates CMS/TJC Core Measures activities. Plans, organizes, and implements Regulatory and Accreditation programs, such as Leapfrog. Serves as liaison between the hospital and accreditation/regulatory agencies, both on a Federal and State level. Coordinates responses to all regulatory agencies.

Qualifications And Requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. MSN preferred. Additional requirements include:

  • Must have at least 7 years' experience in Nursing with at least 3 years as a Director/Manager.
  • Previous RN Director level experience preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within 1 year of hire date.
