KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks a Director of Renewable Energy Project Development in Houston to lead development of utility-scale BESS, Solar PV, and hybrid projects across Texas and the U.S. The role focuses on originating opportunities, building a robust pipeline, and guiding projects from origination through RTB, financial close, and NTP.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of U.S. renewable energy project development experience.
• Experience with utility-scale BESS, Solar PV, or Hybrid projects.
• Proven ability to advance projects through multiple development stages.
• Experience with ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, and/or CAISO.

Responsibilities

• Originate and develop utility-scale BESS, Solar PV, and hybrid opportunities.
• Build and manage a pipeline of greenfield, acquisition, and partnership projects.
• Lead site control, land acquisition, leases, and easements.
• Oversee interconnection strategy, applications, and studies with utilities and ISOs/RTOs.
• Coordinate permitting and stakeholder engagement at multiple levels.
• Evaluate project economics, budgets, and investment returns.
• Support offtake strategies including PPAs and tolling.
• Lead due diligence for acquisitions, JVs, and partnerships.
• Collaborate with Engineering, EPC, Finance, Legal, and consultants.
• Advance projects toward RTB, Financial Close, and NTP.
