Job summary

Acushnet Company is seeking a Director of Regulatory Affairs to lead environmental, health, safety and regulatory programs across its U.S. Golf Ball Operations and Thailand Ball Plant IV.

You will guide compliance strategy, manage permitting, risk assessment, and cross‑functional collaboration with legal, operations, engineering and R&D. This role shapes enterprise wide standards, chairs the Golf Ball Operations Compliance Steering Committee and drives continuous improvement to minimize risk

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field required
  • Extensive experience leading environmental, regulatory affairs, health and safety, or compliance programs in manufacturing
  • Experience with environmental permitting, compliance, remediation, and risk management initiatives
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership, legal, operations, engineering, and regulatory agencies
  • Leadership experience managing teams and enterprise-wide compliance programs
  • Experience with domestic and international environmental and transportation regulations
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including travel to Thailand
  • Deep expertise in environmental regulations, permitting, compliance, and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, spill prevention, and site remediation

What You Will Be Doing

The Director, Regulatory Affairs is a strategic leader responsible for ensuring environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance across Acushnet's U.S. Golf Ball Operations and Thailand Ball Plant IV. This role provides enterprise-wide leadership in developing and implementing compliance programs that support operational excellence while minimizing business risk and maintaining adherence to applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations. Partnering closely with Senior Leadership, Legal, Operations, Engineering, R&D, and external agencies, the Director oversees environmental permitting, hazardous materials management, site remediation, transportation compliance, chemical control programs, and health and safety initiatives. As a trusted subject matter expert, this leader drives continuous improvement, guides regulatory strategy, supports business growth initiatives, and chairs the Golf Ball Operations Compliance Steering Committee to ensure alignment, accountability, and the highest standards of environmental stewardship and workplace safety across the organization.


What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field required

  • Extensive experience leading environmental, regulatory affairs, health and safety, or compliance programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Proven experience managing environmental permitting, compliance, remediation, and risk management initiatives

  • Experience partnering with senior leadership, legal, operations, engineering, and regulatory agencies

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and enterprise-wide compliance programs

  • Experience with domestic and international environmental and transportation regulations

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including periodic travel to Thailand

  • Ability to visit manufacturing, laboratory, and operational environments as required

  • Deep expertise in environmental regulations, permitting, compliance, and reporting

  • Strong knowledge of hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, spill prevention, and site remediation programs

  • Understanding of federal and international regulations, including RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, DOT, IATA, and IMDG requirements

  • Knowledge of chemical control regulations, import/export compliance, and hazardous materials transportation

  • Experience managing environmental liabilities, contaminated site investigations, and remediation projects

  • Strong strategic planning, risk management, and regulatory interpretation skills

  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across leadership, legal, operations, engineering, and R&D teams

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong project management and organizational abilities with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence

  • Ability to lead cross-functional compliance initiatives and drive alignment across multiple facilities and regions

Pay Range: $150,447.00-$195,613.00
