Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division seeks a Director, Rebate Strategy and Operations to lead enterprise rebate programs across lines of business. You will own operating models, governance, and financial controls, directing cross-functional teams to achieve measurable value and compliance.

The role offers remote work from anywhere in the U.S. and broad leadership responsibility across Pharmacy, Finance, Analytics, and Contracting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical rebates or healthcare value functions.
• 5+ years of people leadership, governance, and financial performance
• Experience owning operating models, governance, controls and execution
• Experience leading programs with measurable financial accountability
• Ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise alignment
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and manage cross-functional stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise rebate operating model and execution strategy across lines of business.
• Establish scalable governance structures, policies, and controls.
• Ensure timely, compliant rebate execution and financial accountability.
• Develop executive metrics and reporting on program health and value.
• Oversee eligibility, attestation governance, and product mapping frameworks.
• Lead manufacturer program administration and onboarding.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy, Finance, Analytics, Contracting, and Compliance.
