Title:Director, Proposal Strategy & Business DevelopmentJob Description:NOW HIRING: Proposal Strategy & Business Development DirectorCompensation: $155,000-$175,000 per yearJob OverviewThe Director, Proposal Strategy & Business Development is a highly visible, high-impact role responsible for leading end-to-end proposal strategy, RFP execution, and business development support while also supporting ongoing client operations and executive communications.This individual operates at the intersection of sales, operations, and leadership—owning both strategy and execution across new business pursuits and existing client support. The role requires strong writing, critical thinking, and the ability to deliver high-quality materials under tight, often rapidly evolving deadlines.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Proposal Strategy & Business DevelopmentLead development of RFPs, RFIs, executive summaries, capabilities decks, and client presentationsReview and analyze RFP requirements; define response strategy and win themesOwn pre-RFP efforts including questionnaires, capabilities requests, and lead-generation materialsWrite and edit proposal content while overseeing full proposal lifecycle and workflowLead strategy calls, opportunity assessments, and submission planningManage post-submission activities, including presentation strategy, scripting, and follow-upsDeliver high-quality outputs under compressed timelines, including same-day or next-day turnaround requestsEnsure consistency, quality, and branding across all deliverables; manage design resources and final QABusiness Operations & Client CommunicationsSupport Account Directors and business leaders with:Client presentations and executive materialsPerformance Improvement Plans (PIPs)Organizational charts and operational documentationClient-facing and corporate communicationsTranslate operational and technical content into polished, executive-ready materialsManage internal and executive communications, ensuring clarity and consistencySupport client transitions, including participation in weekly calls and reportingOversee sustainability-related deliverables and redesign initiatives as neededServe as a key resource for urgent, high-priority business requests across the organizationQualificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProven experience in proposal management, RFP response, and business writingAbility to operate at both strategic and executional levels simultaneouslyStrong executive presence and experience working with senior stakeholdersHighly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing ambiguityThrives in high-pressure, high-volume environmentsDemonstrated ability to prioritize, adapt quickly, and deliver under tight timelinesStrong cross-functional collaborator across operations, HR, finance, and leadership teamsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
