As Director of Product for "Build it Right"

you will redefine how innovation, security, and velocity intersect across Capital One’s high-stakes, cloud-native technology ecosystem. Positioned at the nexus of engineering excellence and enterprise trust, you will champion a unified product vision across three foundational pillars: Service Enablement, expanding secure access to cutting-edge cloud capabilities; Enterprise Architecture, streamlining application approvals and embedding architectural best practices; and a centralized Policy-as-Code Platform, driving continuous, automated discovery and enforcement of technical standards. In this role, you will re-imagine traditional governance into intuitive "paved roads"—turning regulatory complexity into a frictionless launchpad that empowers engineering teams to build fast, build safely, and build with confidence.

Leadership & Vision

As an inspiring executive and people leader, you will empower a high-performing group of customer-obsessed Product Managers dedicated to solving real-world friction for developers, risk officers, and cybersecurity partners. You will champion an environment that aggressively leverages AI as a force multiplier—using intelligent automation to accelerate policy discovery, automate architecture reviews, and deliver predictive risk insights. Beyond driving platform adoption and developer velocity, you will serve as a key strategic bridge across technology, risk, and executive leadership, establishing outcomes that prove enterprise governance and rapid delivery can coexist seamlessly. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field and at least 5 years of Product Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products
• 5 years working with products or platforms that serve a software developer or engineer-centric customer base
• 5 year experience working with products with regulatory, risk, or cyber requirements
• 1 year working on multi-tenant platform products serving

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management

McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Director, Product Management

New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900 for Director, Product Management

Plano, TX: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management

Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
