Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Director of Product Engineering in Norwell, MA to shape groundbreaking IT solutions and build AI-embedded products that redefine user experiences. You will lead the full product lifecycle, drive a bold technical vision, and champion modern engineering practices across diverse teams.

You will mentor engineering leaders to deliver scalable, secure, high‑performing products while aligning with enterprise standards and governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/IS/DS or related field.
  • 15+ years of product development with 5–7 years in leadership of product engineering teams.
  • Proven expertise in Agile delivery models and a proficiency in SDLC.
  • Agile Certified Professional (Required).
  • Certified Scrum Master (Required).
  • Certified Agile Leadership.
  • Proficient in Azure, .Net, DevOps, DevSecOps, API, DataOps, OpenAI, Angular, Event-Driven architecture.
  • Proficient in Jira, Aha, Confluence, SonarQube, GitHub, BrowserStack, BurpSuite Pro, GitHub Advanced Security and NowSecure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for multiple software development teams, aligning with goals.
  • Drive AI-enabled product initiatives to enhance UX and efficiency.
  • Mentor engineering leaders to build autonomous, high-performing teams.
  • Promote Agile and DevOps maturity with data-driven decisions.
  • Define and track engineering KPIs like velocity, cycle time, and deployment frequency.
  • Own the product engineering vision and roadmap for executive leadership.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with architecture, cybersecurity, and platform teams.
  • Establish governance and quality frameworks for delivery and security.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction for multiple software development teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Drive innovation through AI: Lead initiatives to design and deliver AI‑embedded products that enhance user experiences, improve operational efficiency, and create competitive differentiation.
  • Mentor and develop engineering leaders (managers, product owners) to build high‑performing, autonomous teams that deliver scalable, secure, and high‑quality products.
  • Champion Agile and DevOps maturity across teams by setting clear objectives, promoting continuous improvement, and leveraging data‑driven insights for decision‑making.
  • Define and track engineering KPIs such as velocity, cycle time, defect density, deployment frequency, and system reliability to measure performance and drive accountability.
  • Own the product engineering vision and roadmap, presenting progress and outcomes to executive leadership while influencing long‑term technology strategy.
  • Drive cross‑functional collaboration with architecture, cybersecurity, and platform teams to ensure cohesive technical solutions and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Establish governance and quality frameworks for software delivery, including performance metrics, risk management, and compliance with security best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
  • 15+ Years of product development experience with at least 5-7 years in a product engineering leadership role managing product engineering teams.
  • Proven expertise in Agile delivery models and a proficiency in software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Agile Certified Professional (Required)
  • Certified Scrum Master (Required)
  • Certified Agile Leadership
  • Proficient in technologies/frameworks such as Azure, .Net, , DevOps, DevSecOps, API, DataOps, OpenAI, Angular, Event‑Driven architecture, etc.
  • Proficient in DevOps tooling such as Jira, Aha, Confluence, SonarQube, GitHub, Test Management tools such as BrowserStack, and security scanning tools such as BurpSuite Pro, GitHub Advanced Security and NowSecure.
