Job summary

Incyte seeks a Director of Privacy Operations for the US to partner with Legal, Compliance, IT, and other business units to ensure privacy by design and adherence to privacy requirements. The role leads the US privacy program, supports pre- and post-launch activities, and orchestrates remediation and training across the organization.

The candidate should have 8+ years in pharma/biotech/privacy and strong communication skills, with certification in privacy and a detail-oriented, proactive

Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent.
  • Continuing education in privacy/data protection or CIPP/E certification.
  • 8+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology or life sciences consulting.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in privacy and data protection for pharmaceutical/medical device/healthcare industries.
  • Strong written/oral communication; ability to integrate legal/regulatory/business knowledge and provide risk-based solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle sensitive information, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, project management, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and operationalize Incyte’s US Privacy program.
  • Coordinate with the Global Privacy Officer to execute global privacy strategy and priorities.
  • Apply and manage the US Privacy plan to meet privacy goals (near-, mid-, and long-term).
  • Monitor changes to US privacy laws and coordinate with internal legal counsel.
  • Partner with Privacy colleagues, business stakeholders, and IT to ensure consistent approaches to processing personal information.
  • Support business groups to meet privacy obligations during pre- and post-product launch activities.
  • Manage the Privacy Assessment (PA) and Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) process in the US.
  • Oversee the US Privacy Champions network and disseminate Privacy messages across the business.
  • Ensure employees/contractors are trained on privacy policies, data handling, and legal obligations.
  • Serve on the Global Privacy Steering Committee.
  • Respond to privacy-related requests from regulators/data subjects.
  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity to safeguard privacy interests.
  • Liaise with IT and business groups on privacy aspects of new technologies, including AI.

Job Summary (Primary Function)

The Director, Privacy Operations US serves as the business partner for Incyte’s Privacy program in the US, working with Legal, Compliance, IT, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and other business units to ensure adherence to applicable privacy requirements and “privacy by design.” Responsible for implementing components of the Privacy plan and managing privacy processes and procedures.
