Qualifications

  • Direct experience in the management and design of utility Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects.
  • Experience developing and fostering Utility client relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines without supervision.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility with strong understanding of financial metrics.
  • Makes decisions independently regarding various issues and methods.
  • Organized with the ability to self-prioritize.
  • Friendly, approachable, and active listener.

Responsibilities

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Director in its Power Delivery Market. The Director of Power Delivery will be joining a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals and must possess excellent internal and external communication skills. The Director is responsible for ensuring the overall success of clients under their management and executing on the market’s strategic plan. Specifically the Director will be accountable for managing a successful team of project managers, fostering and building a network of client relationships, developing strategic business ideas, managing the financial performance of their client portfolios, and driving expansion into new business territories.

Requirements
Team Management:

Leads a team of project managers in building successful client relationships while providing mentorship, coaching and career growth planning.

  • Assigns project managers to clients and projects.
  • Sets performance goals for their team and provides feedback.
  • Resolves conflict and takes corrective action.
  • Participates in the hiring process by recruiting and interviewing market candidates.
  • Strengthening the team’s leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates a leadership style which aligns with those around them.
Client Relationships & Project Management:

As a Director, a deep understanding and proficiency in project management and building client relationships is essential to the job. The role requires project performance oversight for all clients and projects, and the ability to communicate corrective measures if required.

  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders at utilities, developers, and EPC contractors.
  • Identifies key client relationships and develops strategies to ensure a successful outcome for projects delivered.
  • Develops actions plans and contingency plans to service the client base at a high level.
  • Understands and develops long-term growth strategies with each client.
  • Negotiates contractual agreements with support from the legal team.
  • Serves as the source for escalation between client and Westwood teams.
  • Identifies business risk and makes decisions in line with the market’s tolerance.
  • Ensures the team has the appropriate management tools, techniques, and data to perform the financial and contractual obligations of the projects under management.
  • Guides the project management team to understand client goals and objectives, contract types, project risks, scope, schedule, budget, and project closeout.
  • Oversees the financial performance and execution for all projects within their client portfolio.
  • Drives initiatives to ensure expected quality and delivery of services is performed.
  • Assess project risks and evaluates opportunities via Go / No-Go metrics.
  • Approves Invoices and ensures timely AR collections.
Account Management and New Business Development:

A Director is responsible for clients within their region and executing the strategic plan for building the business. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Seeks new business opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Coordinates with Regional Leader to develop strategic plans and market objectives.
  • Defines their team’s business development initiatives.
  • Supports marketing efforts and represents Westwood at conferences and industry events.
  • Identifies new or additional service offerings to be employed by the market.
  • Oversees master service agreement pursuits.
  • Negotiates contractual agreements with support from the legal team.
  • Leads rate and fee structure negotiations.
  • Evaluates how we do business with our clients, understanding their needs and buying preferences.
  • Responsible for regularly evaluating our competitiveness in the market space.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
  • PE license
