Inova Loudoun Hospital seeks an experienced Nursing Leader to oversee a 24-bed adult post-surgical/oncology unit. The role focuses on developing high-performing teams, advancing clinical excellence, and delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of leadership and 2 years of acute care nursing experience, a BSN, and Virginia RN licensure with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the 24-bed adult post-surgical/oncology unit to ensure effective performance.
• Upholds guidelines and evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient outcomes.
• Acts as primary liaison for the unit, coordinating care and physician relations.
• Manages unit budget and resources to support fiscal performance.
• Promotes patient and physician satisfaction through leadership rounding and AIDET/HML discussions.
• Supports staff development and engagement to build high-performing teams.

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Nursing Leader to oversee our 24-bed adult post-surgical/oncology unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong nursing leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, developing high-performing teams, and advancing clinical excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success.
• Ensures use of guidelines, standards and evidence-based practice in care delivery, producing quality patient outcomes and a safe patient environment.
• Serves as a primary liaison and information resource for unit. Oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic and evidence-based environment which produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes.
• Serves as a physician liaison and primary information resource/contact for the unit. Ensures compliance with the unit plan for physician satisfaction.
• Maintains and monitors budgetary standards and utilizes resources effectively and appropriately.
• Monitors patient/physician satisfaction and seeks ways to improve by ensuring continuous implementation of evidence-based practices to include, but not limited to, discharge phone calls, leadership rounding (patients, physicians and internal customers), AIDET and HML conversations.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience - 1 year of leadership experience and 2 years of acute care nursing experience, leadership experience may include RN Unit Supervisor Role, dedicated charge nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager or equivalent role

• Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing

• Certification - Basic Life Support via AHA upon start

• Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience leading adult medical-surgical, post-surgical, oncology, or other complex acute-care populations.
• Demonstrated success in staff engagement, retention, recruitment, and development of high-performing nursing teams.
• Oncology specialty certificationpreferred.
