Job summary

Dynata seeks a visionary Director of Platform Engineering to lead the architecture, delivery, operations, reliability, and scalability of the company's enterprise Data Lakehouse platform. You will guide teams across platform engineering and technical operations to enable analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and data-driven business capabilities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data engineering, architecture, or platform leadership roles.
• 5+ years in a director or senior leadership position managing large technical teams.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg).
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data stack.
• Experience with data governance frameworks, data mesh, and data product thinking.
• Executive communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Experience with budget management and P&L ownership

• Partner with business units to identify data platform requirements and translate into platform capabilities.
• Own platform SLAs, uptime, cost management, and quality standards.
• Drive adoption of platform best practices across data engineering, governance, and DevOps.
• Oversee vendor relationships, licensing, and cloud provider partnerships (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ensure platform compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Champion a culture of data democratization and self-service analytics

RESPONSIBILITIES

The base salary range for this position in is $150K-$200K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
