Job summary

PsiQuantum is seeking a Director of Physical Security to oversee its global security program. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement strategies protecting personnel, visitors, and facilities.

Lead the security team, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while coordinating with law enforcement and other public sector entities. Occasional travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in physical security or adjacent field.
• Experience securing new and existing global data centers.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, PSPF, GDPR and related privacy regulations.

PsiQuantum's mission is to build the first useful quantum computers: machines capable of delivering the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Since our founding in 2016, our singular focus has been to build and deploy million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems.

Quantum computers harness the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that even the most advanced supercomputers or AI systems will never reach. Their impact will span energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials, and other foundational industries.

Job Summary:

The Director, Physical Security oversees all aspects of PsiQuantum's global physical security program. Reporting to the Chief Security Officer (CSO), this person works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to protect PsiQuantum's personnel, visitors and facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive physical security program for protecting company personnel, visitors, and facilities.
• Hire, mentor, and grow the physical security team, and own the program budget.
• Manage all physical security measures including access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems.
• Oversee 24/7 security monitoring and alarm response.
• Manage physical security personnel, contractors, vendors, and services.
• Partner with Facilities and third parties to incorporate security into the selection, design, and build-out of new sites.
• Ensure compliance with PsiQuantum's regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop plans to address identified weaknesses.
• Coordinate internally and with law enforcement and other public sector entities to address threats and coordinate response to incidents.
• Lead investigations of physical security incidents.
• Coordinate and/or perform offensive security assessments.
• Maintain and develop the travel security program.
• Coordinate insider risk programs to address security and risk objectives.
• Report program KPIs and risk posture to the CSO and senior leadership.

Experience/Qualifications:

• 5+ years in physical security or an adjacent field.
• 5+ years in supervisory roles.
• Extensive experience with securing new and existing, global data centers.
• Proficiency in physical security technology, such as CCTV and access controls.
• Familiarity with global standards and regulations, such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, PSPF, GDPR, and other applicable privacy regulations.
• Strong communication skills, including briefing senior leadership.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Base pay is one part of the total compensation package. Full-time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic markets, and we pay based on defined geographic zones. This position may be filled within one of the following U.S. geographic zones, each with its own salary range.

Actual compensation may vary outside of these ranges and is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's qualifications, relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, business needs, and internal equity. Zone 1: $218,600 — $256,800 USD

Zone 2: $196,700 — $231,100 USD

Zone 3: $174,800 — $205,400 USD
