Job summary

Blue Shield of California's Pharmacy Strategy & Operations department seeks a Director, Pharmacist - Drug Quality Program to lead efforts on medication safety, health outcomes, and member access to prescriptions. You will report to the Senior Director for Clinical Pharmacy Programs and guide a team of pharmacy professionals through strategic initiatives.

This hybrid role emphasizes leadership, analytical excellence, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree from an accredited U.S. school of pharmacy.
• Active California Registered Pharmacist license.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• At least 6 years of people management experience with direct reports.
• Knowledge of national and CA quality rating systems and accreditation standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced clinical pharmacy practice with managed care experience.
• Advanced proficiency in data analytics using pharmacy claims data and KPI design.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for performance on quality measures addressing medication safety, health outcomes, and member experience.
• Report to the Senior Director, Clinical Pharmacy Programs.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve clinical quality and affordability of prescription medications.
• Lead and develop the Clinical Pharmacy Programs team to sustain high performance.
