CLEAR is seeking a Director, Payments Performance - Product in New York City to own and optimize how money moves across the payments stack. You will drive authorization, renewal recovery, fraud performance, and cost of acceptance, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Partners.

You’ll translate issuer, network, processor, and Member insights into product strategy, experiments, and measurable business outcomes, shaping the roadmap and performance benchmarks for a high-volume

Qualifications

• 10+ years of deep payments experience in high-volume consumer or subscription settings.
• Expert knowledge of card payment economics, authorization, and lifecycle events.
• Ability to turn payment data into actionable product decisions and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own payment performance end-to-end: authorization, renewal recovery, fraud and chargeback performance.
• Diagnose performance across issuers, networks, wallets, and Member cohorts; define a single truth for payments performance.
• Define and drive authorization and recovery roadmap with Product, Engineering, and Analytics.
• Lead relationships with processors, networks, and issuers to improve performance and accountability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to run experiments balancing approvals, fraud risk, and revenue.
