Job summary

Empower Retirement, LLC is seeking a Director Participant Engagement to lead a regional team of retirement advisers. You will drive growth, maximize plan participation, and promote Empower Advisory Services across assigned markets.

The role emphasizes relationship building, fiduciary oversight, and strategic execution with senior management. The position requires 7–10 years in financial services, leadership experience, and FINRA registrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 7–10 years experience in Financial Services industry.
  • Understanding of management, training, coaching & leadership principles.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

About the Role

The Director Participant Engagement leads a field team of retirement advisers and/or counselors focused on supporting employees of Empower’s clients prepare for a successful retirement by helping them to replace the income they earned while working. This is done through developing and executing upon goals that align to a growth and marketing strategy that maximizes plan participation, assets and the use of Empower Advisory Services and products in an assigned geographic area. Extensive relationship building and navigation of prospective accounts is a key aspect of the role.

What you will do
  • Lead and manage a regional team with the purpose of executing on a regional growth strategy and business plan that identifies new business opportunities for maximizing defined contribution plan (457(b), 403(b), 401(k)) participation, assets and savings rates as well as improve the participant’s overall diversification and wealth accumulation and distribution strategy
  • Maximize the adoption and use of Empower products and services, including Managed Accounts through Empower Advisory Services
  • Create an environment of safety, autonomy, high-accountability, support, coaching and feedback that fosters an environment of employee high performance, engagement, learning and career development
  • Ensure the team is adhering to a consistent service model by using Empower technological resources and counseling processes while adhering to corporate policies and procedures
  • As the Supervising Principal, ensure that all regulatory and fiduciary rules and standards are adhered to by tracking and monitoring the associated records
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance service activities, compliance requirements and corporate/industry policies and procedures
  • Build strong partnerships with key regional personnel, plan sponsor representatives and internal and external stakeholders to maximize the distribution and use of Empower products and services and carry out strategic initiatives
  • Analyze and control all expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Participate in the delivery of sales presentation along with Regional Sales Directors and key members of senior management
What you will bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
  • 7 - 10 years experience in Financial Services industry
  • Understanding of management, training, coaching & leadership principles
  • General understanding of technology software with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and learn new systems
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade others, driving behavioral change and personal development while identifying and executing strategies that support organizational initiatives and exceed corporate goals
  • FINRA 6, 63, 26 & 65 registrations required within established timelines; at least two registrations required for consideration
  • FINRA fingerprinting required
What will set you apart
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the financial services & defined contribution industries as well as the associated products & services are preferred
  • Financial services designations preferred (e.g. CFP, ChFC, CRC, CRPC) or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding performance goals in prior roles

Remote and Hybrid Positions

For remote and hybrid positions you will be required to provide reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection as well as a place in your home to work with limited disruption. You must have reliable connectivity from an internet service provider that is fiber, cable or DSL internet. Other necessary computer equipment, will be provided. You may be required to work in the office if you do not have an adequate home work environment and the required internet connection.

Salary Range

Base Salary Range $105,700.00 - $149,275.00 The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
