Advocate Health seeks a senior leader to oversee a major program within Wake Forest University Health Sciences – Clinical Trials: Comprehensive Cancer Center. You will plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of the program, fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic goals.

The role requires a Master's degree with five+ years of related leadership experience, strong budget oversight, and proven ability to drive results in a complex academic health system.

• Significant experience and documented success in setting strategic direction and delivering on objectives for a business unit, company or academic unit.

Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

Leadership responsibility for a significant program or functional area in a department, institute, or division that has organizational impact. Plans, coordinates, and manages all aspects of the assigned program or functional area, maintaining collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues and associates. Works with leadership in determining strategic goals and ensures decisions are implemented in a positive and timely manner.

Education/Experience

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the day-to-day delivery of program or functional area services. Makes strategic decisions based on analysis and goals and objectives of assigned program.
• Continuously analyzes systems and processes. Develops and implements best practices and appropriate changes to improve outcomes in a timely manner.
• Creates evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determines the need for improvements.
• Initiates and sets goals for programs and functional area according to the strategic objectives of the organization and leadership. Assists leadership in defining goals and strategic plans.
• Assists leader with budget development and planning. Ensures areas of responsibility meet fiscal requirements and monitors expenditures.
• Ensures program and functional area operations and activities adhere to any legal guidelines and internal policies.
• Keeps senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.
• Develops appropriate communication and communication methods to facilitate the flow of information and maximizes effective communication throughout the program. Communicates services with other departments and vendors as applicable.
• Facilitates and/or conducts individual and group presentations as needed.
• May supervise the work and manage performance of assigned staff.
• Participates in committees as appropriate.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
