Job summary

Urban Dove Team Charter School seeks a dedicated Youth Development Director to implement and sustain a sports-based youth development program across the UD Team student body year-round. The role reports to the School Leader and guides staff, students, and families in behavior, academics, and supports.

The position emphasizes restorative practices, budget oversight, events, and collaboration with social workers to assist high-need students in earning a diploma and gaining job-ready skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree; ILL preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and deliver high-quality work.
• Commitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication.
• Commitment to restorative practices and a youth development approach to student issues
• Knowledge of Special Education and IEPs
• Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently
• Must be team-oriented with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve on the school's leadership team.
• Supervise the Department of Youth Development members.
• Train staff in behavior standards and restorative practices.
• Embed UD Team TLCs for behavior.
• Conduct formal observations of coaches in various sessions.
• Lead professional development for the department.
• Address performance issues with staff.
• Oversee coach-student 1:1 session documentation.
• Track team data on behavior, credit, attendance, and scores.
• Collaborate with social workers on Youth Development sessions.
• Secure support for high-need students.
• Manage department budget and equipment inventory.
• Organize sports-based events and logistics.
• Coordinate SBYD space and permits.
• Collaborate with Special Education Coordinator on Restorative Plans.
• Conduct walkthroughs, offering feedback on systems and management.
