Job summary

UHS seeks a Director of Utilization Review to lead the UR process across programs, supervising staff and collaborating with physicians and social services to ensure quality, compliant patient care and documentation. The role requires strategic oversight, budget involvement, and performance analysis within a behavioral health setting.

The incumbent will coordinate admission and continued-stay reviews, monitor outcomes, and maintain data for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field, or RN licensure.
• Three to five years’ experience in chart analysis and utilization review in psychiatric/chemical dependency fields preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with physicians, staff, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates the utilization review process; supervises staff; ensures quality of patient care and cost efficiency.
• Review admissions and continued-stay reviews; ensure quality documentation with physicians and social services.
• Maintain data for leadership review; participate in planning, budgeting, and program evaluation.
