Job summary

The Salvation Army in Augusta, GA is seeking a Store Operations Manager to plan, supervise, and optimize the day-to-day operations of multiple thrift stores. You will lead store personnel, protect assets, and ensure policy and budget compliance.

You will oversee merchandise flow from warehouse to floor, stock rotation, and the setup of displays for promotions, while maintaining a neat and inviting shopping environment for customers. Strong supervisory experience in retail is required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Business Management or related field.
• Four years progressive supervisory experience in retail sales management OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises, monitors, and evaluates the day-to-day operations of multiple Thrift Stores for a location; plans, supervises, and monitors work of all Thrift Store personnel ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures as well as budget constraints; plans, supervises, and evaluates the layout and display of Thrift Store merchandise to generate maximum financial return.
• Supervises processing of merchandise in the warehouse to ensure that items reach store floors in a timely manner; plans and supervises the rotation and re-arranging of stock; prepares and monitors sales, statistical and financial reports.
• Supervises cashier activities and accountability of cash register monies; supervises preparation of sales records, sales reports and bank deposits.
• Directs subordinate store managers in layout and display of store merchandise; ensures stock rotation and promotional displays; maintains neat, inviting stores.
• Oversees supervision and monitoring of receiving, sorting, pricing, and distribution of donated items; ensures timely processing in compliance with policies.
• Supervises scheduling and routing of donation pickups; ensures accountability of donated items and compliance with policies.
• Supervises operation and maintenance of thrift store vehicles and equipment; ensures timely maintenance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees the supervision and monitoring of the receiving, sorting, pricing, and distribution of donated items in the warehouse; ensures that items are processed in a timely manner and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Supervises the scheduling and routing of donation pick-ups; ensures the accountability of all donated items; ensures donations are collected in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Supervises the operation and maintenance of all Thrift Store vehicles and equipment; ensures that routine maintenance and repairs are conducted in a timely and economical manner to ensure safety and long life.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Occasional lifting of heavier items may be required with team assistance or appropriate equipment. Position involves frequent standing, bending, reaching, and movement throughout the workday.
