Job summary

Dover Center for Health & Rehabilitation seeks a Director of Therapeutic Recreation / Activities to design and oversee engaging programs for residents. You will lead a creative, compassionate team and partner with interdisciplinary staff to meet residents’ well-being goals.

The role emphasizes leadership, program development, and collaboration in a caring senior-care setting with opportunities for professional growth and impact on residents’ happiness and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field is required.
• CTRS credential is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion and empathy in working with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee therapeutic recreation programs for residents
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess residents' needs and preferences
• Provide leadership and guidance to the therapeutic recreation team
• Organize and facilitate a variety of opportunities for entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression while fulfilling residents' basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs
• Create a warm and inclusive environment that encourages resident participation
• Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed
• Assist the families of physically, emotionally, and cognitively impaired individuals to explore appropriate hobbies and leisure activities

What You'll Do:

* This is a Full-time (Monday - Friday) based schedule with intermittent weekend & evening coverage based on needs of the department *

* Salary role $54K - $58K annually * ($26 - $28 an hour)

Rate of Pay

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Director of Therapeutic Recreation / Activities:

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential preferred
• Proven experience in developing and leading therapeutic recreation programs
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Compassion and empathy in working with seniors
