Job summary

Greenspring Advisors is seeking a Director of Technology to lead technology initiatives, governance, and digital transformation across the firm. You will bridge business needs with technology investments and manage a technology team, vendors, and budgets.

Responsibilities include shaping the tech roadmap, evaluating AI solutions, driving change, and ensuring data integrity and security while delivering measurable client value. This role requires strong leadership in a financial services setting.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology experience with CRM, cybersecurity, AI adoption, change management, data management, and project execution.
  • Experience managing IT teams and vendors across a professional services firm.
  • Degree in a related field; PMP and Salesforce certifications are a plus.

The Director of Technology role will lead the firm’s technology initiatives, infrastructure, business applications, and digital transformation efforts. The role will serve as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring that systems, processes, and technology investments align with the firm’s strategic goals. Additionally, the Director of Technology will drive innovation, oversee technology vendors, implement scalable solutions, and lead business process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and execute the firm's technology roadmap in alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and automation solutions, to improve productivity and client service.
  • Partner with executive leadership and department heads to identify opportunities for technology-enabled growth and operational efficiencies.
  • Serve as the firm's primary technology leader and advisor on technology-related risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the technology team at the firm.
  • IT budgeting and resource allocation
Change Management
  • Lead firm-wide technology initiatives and organizational change efforts.
  • Drive user adoption and training programs for new technology platforms and workflows.
  • Develop change management strategies that minimize disruption and maximize business value.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to redesign and optimize operational processes.
  • Lead projects on managing firm data across the technology stack.
Artificial Intelligence & Automation
  • Implement AI and automation solutions to drive workflow improvement, productivity gains, and measurable business impact
  • Establish AI governance standards, security controls, and responsible-use policies.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and advise leadership on practical applications.
Project Management
  • Manage ongoing technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Establish project governance, timelines, budgets, risk management, and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Technology Operations & Infrastructure
  • Oversee the firm's technology ecosystem, including managing the outsourced managed service provider, cybersecurity, workflow processes, and business applications.
  • Ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and security of all systems.
  • Manage disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and oversee technology contracts and service agreements.
  • Drive operational consistency, scalability, and best practices.
Business Systems & Technology Stack Management
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive summary of our current technology stack, identifying potential opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Evaluate new technologies and oversee technology integrations.
  • Ensure systems are effectively connected and support end-to-end business processes.
  • Ability to build workflow processes in the firm’sCRM, Salesforce.
Data Management
  • Develop a roadmap for building a platform to manage the firm’s data in-house for reporting, analytics, and workflow processing
  • Build integrations across technology platforms to improve data integrity and availability of consistent data.
  • Provide data solutions to improve the client experience.
Specific Measures of Success
  • Measurable business impact on advisor productivity
  • Ensure core technology platforms (i.e., CRM) are integrated and can support defined business processes.
  • Create measurable technology KPIs to assess success and ROI.
  • Align IT initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Deploy and govern AI and automation initiatives across the firm
  • Manage the long-term key initiative of ownership of the firm’s data

7+ years of technology experience with a strong understanding of CRM workflows, cybersecurity, AI adoption, change management, data management, and project execution.

Technology experience within financial services, wealth management, banking, asset management, or related sectors is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Salesforce Administrator, or related Salesforce certification preferred.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Proven experience leading complex technology implementations and business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align product development and overall business goals.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation abilities.
  • Experience and a strong interest in implementing AI, automation, and workflow solutions.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and information security best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, including the Power Platform, Copilot, and Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience managing IT teams.
Requirements/Additional Information
  • Starting base salary range: $150,000 - $200,000, based on experience and geographic location, with the opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus of up to 15% of earnings
  • Travel to the Greenspring offices should be expected in this role.
