Job summary

Alvernia University is seeking a Director of Career Services to advise, coach, and support students throughout their job search, partnering with campus units and employers to create programs such as information sessions, career fairs, and networking events.

You will manage Handshake employment management, develop data-driven reports, and build relationships with students, alumni, employers, and faculty to connect talent with opportunities while promoting the University's Franciscan mission and

Qualifications

• Commitment to the mission and values of Alvernia University.
• 12-month full-time administrative position with master’s degree preferred and Driver’s License required.
• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours to support University events and initiatives.
• Experience in higher education or working with students, faculty and community partners; knowledge of higher education is desired.
• Working knowledge of best practices in career development.
• Excellent writing, public speaking, and PC skills, including web development and social media.

Responsibilities

• Advise, coach, and assist students with internship and job preparation.
• Develop, manage, and deliver Career Development events for students and alumni (networking events, recruitment events, career fairs, roundtables, speakers).
• Create documents, procedures, and policies aligning with industry standards and internship practices; handle administrative logistics.
• Build and maintain relationships with campus stakeholders to promote internships and professional development.
• Maintain communication with employers, faculty, staff, and students; market Career Services events to increase participation.
• Manage Handshake: employer accounts, postings, events, registrations, and employer contact information; analyze outcomes and recruitment data.
