• Experience in stakeholder engagement and influencing across diverse teams.
• Prefer experience in global, regulated financial-services, payments, or tech environments.

Director of Strategic Sourcing

Location: Atlanta

The Director of Strategic Sourcing will lead the development and execution of enterprise sourcing and category strategies across approximately $900 million in annual third-party spend. The role is accountable for delivering measurable financial, operational, risk-management, and supplier-performance outcomes while enabling the organization's strategic priorities.

The Director will lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team, advise senior leaders on complex commercial decisions, and partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and business-unit stakeholders. This leader will apply external market intelligence, disciplined category management, rigorous negotiation, and strong supplier governance to improve total cost of ownership, manage third-party risk, accelerate innovation, and preserve value throughout the contract lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
• Analyze business needs and market trends toidentifycost-saving opportunities and sourcing efficiencies.
• Drive the proposal process, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.

• Manage and mentor a high-performing sourcingteam.

• Solicit new business opportunities and partnerships.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.

• Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with company standards.
• Engage proactively with internal stakeholders-including Finance, Legal, Operations, and Business Units-to understand needs, align sourcing strategies, and ensure seamless collaboration.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on sourcing initiatives and risk management.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication to resolve issues, drive consensus, and support organizationalobjectives.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in general business, financial, accounting, or related disciplines.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in procurement and contract negotiation in a strategic sourcing or procurement function.
• History of analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex vendor relationships.
• Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing without authority across diverse teams.
• A track recordof building trust and fostering collaboration at all organizational levels.

• Prefer experience in a global, regulated, financial-services, payments, or technology-intensive environment.

Work Shift

HYBRID - Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.
