Job summary

Leoforce is seeking an experienced Director of Sterile Processing in the Hartford, CT area. The role leads the SPD to manage instrument decontamination, sterilization, inspection, and distribution within a high-volume orthopedic ambulatory setting.

The Director will drive quality, safety, and efficiency by building teams, implementing improvements, and collaborating with OR leadership, infection prevention, and nursing leadership to monitor metrics and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with five years in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily SPD operations: decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage and distribution of surgical instruments.
• Establish quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement to ensure accurate instrument delivery.
• Develop and present monthly departmental performance metrics to nursing leadership.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, AAAHC standards, and AAMI guidelines.
• Oversee instrument inventory management, procurement, receipt, maintenance, and replacement.
