Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field is desirable
• At least seven (7) years of experience as a statistician or data scientist in the pharmaceutical industry or relevant senior level
• Demonstrated expertise in statistical simulation and multiple methodology areas relevant to clinical development
• Strong hands-on skills in R and Python and experience developing reproducible simulation workflows
• Comfortable with GitHub and AI-assisted coding

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary, scientific, technical, and strategic leadership for the BDS Simulation Hub and translate vision into priorities and roadmap
• Lead and develop the Simulation Hub team with clear priorities and accountability
• Partner with development teams and statisticians to identify high-value simulation needs early in development
• Lead simulation and methodology work for complex development questions and scalable innovation
• Ensure simulation work uses sound methodology, clear assumptions, and reproducible implementations
• Drive development and adoption of reusable R- and Python-based simulation code and tools
• Promote efficient use of scalable computing and advanced visualization
• Communicate results clearly to statisticians and non-statisticians
• Represent BDS in cross-functional and external collaborations
• Build simulation capability through training and mentoring
• Monitor new developments in simulation and software tools and implement high-impact approaches
• Lead highly complex problems at director level and influence strategy
