Job summary

Saab, Inc., in East Syracuse, NY, seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead the Software and Cybersecurity organization. You will guide engineers, managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products within cost and schedule targets.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering, you will drive staffing, budgeting, risk management, and talent development, while ensuring regulatory compliance and technical excellence across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 18+ years of experience in a technical/engineering environment with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven success building and leading a high-performing engineering function, preferably in Aerospace/Defense.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and scale the Software Engineering organization.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate strategy into actionable plans.
• Drive organizational planning, staffing, budgeting, and resource alignment.
